Nurse Extern Program

Junior/First-Year Nursing Student

Our newly enhanced Nurse Extern Program gives you the unique opportunity to apply the theory you have learned in the classroom and your clinical rotations to the hospital setting. You will benefit from the expertise of varied nursing personnel and work with diverse patient populations. We have many exciting clinical settings from which to choose.

Your externship will include an assignment at one of our hospitals.

You will work 20 to 40 hours each week in a designated department for 10 weeks.

At the completion of the program, you have the opportunity to meet with your peers and celebrate the successes of your program.

Our program offers you:

  • An RN preceptor.
  • Valuable educational opportunities.
  • Continued work opportunities in part-time or relief positions beyond the Extern Program (optional).
  • Consultations with the Program Specialist when you need additional assistance and/or guidance.
