Health System offers free fall-risk assessments

Falls rank as the leading cause of injury for Americans older than 65. Since balance problems can be a major factor, all Greensboro- based Moses Cone Health System outpatient rehabilitation facilities are offering free balance screenings.

“With a simple 15-minute assessment, we can reliably predict who is likely to fall,” says Vince Carlson, physical therapist, Moses Cone Outpatient Rehab, Brassfield. “Many of those people can be helped with a steadiness training program. We’ve been operating our program for several years with outstanding results.”

People getting a free balance assessment can take the results to their personal doctor who will decide if a steadiness-training program is needed.

To sign up for a free screening, call 282-6339.
