Digital Mammography
Accredited by the American College of Radiology and FDA approved

The Women's Hospital of Greensboro offers state-of-the-art digital breast imaging. This advanced technology provides clearer images in half the time of traditional mammograms. It is especially beneficial for women younger than 50, premenopausal women and women with dense breasts. We also use CAD (Computer Assisted Diagnosis), which provides a second, electronic reading of your mammography study and can further improve cancer detection and the overall diagnostic accuracy of your mammogram. This method offers many advantages over traditional mammograms.

The benefits of using both digital mammography and CAD include:

  • Improved patient comfort with less compression in most cases.
  • Shorter exam times.
  • Faster results.
  • Less anxiety.
  • Better for implants, dense or fibrocystic breasts, and smaller breasts.
  • Less radiation.

Screening mammography is recommended for all women annually beginning at age 40. Appointments may be scheduled Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for your convenience. Call (336) 832-6515 to make an appointment. We provide special reserved parking spaces for our mammography patients. These spaces are located in front of the main entrance just beyond the circle drive.
