Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Moses Cone Health System. The role of the Moses Cone Health System volunteer is to provide services that exemplify compassion, respect and caring for our patients, their families and visitors. Volunteers are needed in nearly every department and location of our Health System. Your contribution of time and caring helps make the hospitals and facilities of Moses Cone Health System a better place for our community.
In addition to the satisfaction you receive knowing you made someone's day a bit brighter, your contribution helps keep healthcare costs low. Combined, our volunteers donate thousands of hours per year. Giving back in this way is invaluable to us, and our volunteers say the experience gives back in ways never imagined.

We have year-round programs for adult and college volunteers and are asking for a minimum of a six-month commitment. At some of our facilities, there also are summer programs for teen volunteers (ages 14 through high school) who are interested in learning about healthcare careers.
To safeguard your safety and that of our patients, we ask that all volunteers meet a few requirements:

Provide photograph identification.

Proof of immunizations.

TB skin test.

Provide two references and a completed application.

Attend orientation and yearly refresher courses.

Wear the designated uniform and identification badge.

Other requirements may apply for specific assignments, such as additional safety training and immunizations for those who are at risk of coming into contact with blood or body fluids.
