A CD of lullabies, produced by Moses Cone Health System and The Greensboro Youth Chorus, will be unveiled at a concert on Sunday, Oct. 23. The CD, Lullabies and Slumber Songs, is an effort by Moses Cone Health System to provide new parents with the developmental tools for children to get a healthy start.

The Greensboro Youth Chorus recorded the CD of 15 lullabies and slumber songs as a gift for newborns at The Women's Hospital of Greensboro. The 3,000 CDs will be given to new moms starting in mid November.

The unveiling will take place prior to a benefit concert for Greensboro Youth Chorus' New Orleans counterpart. The event will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church, 410 N. Holden Road.

Greensboro Youth Chorus Directors Ann Doyle and Tom Shelton are friends of the New Orleans Children's Choir director.

'The Greensboro Youth Chorus singers and directors have worked closely with Cheryl Dupont, Founder and Director of the New Orleans Children's Choir, and would like to extend a helping hand to them in rebuilding their organization,' Doyle says.

The concert is free. Donations for the New Orleans Children's Choir will be taken.
